Even though Tel Aviv is a relatively small town I still have a whole bunch of places to visit on my bucket list. One of those places was Cassis, I’ve been meaning to swing by this hidden gem for a while and last week I finally took the time to and here is what I saw, and ate, and wore…

Cassis is located right on the beach of Jaffa by the prestigious building of the Peres Peace Center, the restaurant is part of the anticipated W Hotel and residences that will open just around the corner. Being so close to the water means that by going to Cassis for breakfast or lunch you will also go swimming or surfing, or in other words take a bikini or a surfboard with you and cancel all plans that day.

At first glans Cassis reminded me of Malibu, perhaps it’s because I just came back from LA or maybe because the head chef and part owner Ayelet Perry spent 17 years in California, Cassis really feels like a breath of fresh air to our middle eastern shabby views and I guess after a couple of Ayelet’s famous refreshing house cocktails you will forget where you are anyway. Malibu, Jaffa, Greece or Cyprus who cares with this view!

As you can imagine the food is inspired by the scenery and local surroundings and with Ayelet’s magic and professional touch every dish turns into a celebration of color and taste. The fusion between simple and fresh mediterranean ingredients, the sophisticated display and the relaxed atmosphere is what makes Cassis the ultimate by-the-beach dining experience in Tel Aviv – Jaffa.
